Norton Priory Museum and Gardens engages Fido's heritage expertise

Will Mellor in a full suit of armour was not the image Fido had in mind when starting work on an exciting new heritage project with Norton Priory Museums and Gardens in Runcorn, but that’s exactly what it got. The cast of Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps were filming last week using the monastery ruins as a backdrop in the scene for the much awaited next series of the BBC 3 comedy.
But there’s more to Norton Priory than its small screen credentials. One of the largest excavated monastic sites in Europe, a Georgian Walled Garden, a 12th century priory and museum; there are many different facets to this visitor attraction. Fido will be using all of these elements to deliver a PR campaign that embraces Norton Priory’s rich historical and horticultural offering.
Such is the extent of the beautiful gardens and grounds at Norton Priory that they are eagerly anticipating the arrival of two special little residents. Two rare albino hedgehogs are due to be released by the RSPCA in the next few weeks and Fido will be on hand to guide them through their media début.
And a packed activity programme makes even more reason to visit the historic attraction with the next big event planned for Sunday 29 March when the ‘Tapestry of Music’ group will lead a musical journey through the ages with live performance on ancient instruments such as the hurdy-gurdy and the crumhorn!
