The South Cheshire Pie Election

People are set to become pie-eyed with the launch of the South Cheshire Pie Election, created to celebrate The Nantwich Food and Drink Festival 2009.

Fido has forged a partnership between festival organisers, legendary local bakers Chatwins and The Crewe and Nantwich Chronicle, with the aim of creating the ultimate pie to be launched to the public on Friday 25 September, the opening day of the festival.

Election style posters and leaflets have been created to be distributed through all 20 Chatwins stores asking the people of south Cheshire to submit their ideas for the ultimate pie filling, whether radical or conservative.

Three finalists will then be chosen by a panel of pie loving judges, including some hungry Nantwich FC players. These three pies will then be put up for a public election on Saturday 12 September at which time the polls will open in Nantwich voting will open to the public.

Visit the Nantwich Food and Drink Festival website to find out more and stay tuned to find out which pie has the upper crust!
