What Are You Like?

Fido is working with Manchester Art Gallery to promote its major summer exhibition “What Are You Like?” The exhibition brings together an eclectic mix of celebrities, artists and other well-known figures, each contributing a 'self-portrait' composed of their favourite things.
The idea is based on a Victorian parlour game in which players were asked to describe themselves by picking eight of their favourite things including weather, book, animal and food.
Contributors include, Eric Carle, Lauren Child, Anna Ford, Paul Smith and Brian Eno.
Fido is also running a Manchester wide schools competition for pupils to enter their own version of the artworks. The winner’s portrait will then be displayed in the gallery throughout the exhibition’s run.
What Are You Like runs from 4 July to 31 August 2009. For more information visit www.manchesrergalleries.org
